Ever watched Inside the Actor’s Studio with James Lipton? In each show, he ends the interview with a series of ten intriguing questions originated by French television personality Bernard Pivot, based on the Proust Questionnaire (Google it yourself, folks… I’m not here today to provide the details). I am passing along Barbara’s challenge: answer these 10 questions, share the link in the comments and pass it on.
What’s your favorite word?
Harmony. I love everything about this word. It implies balance… cooperation… goodness.
What’s your least favorite word?
Hate. It’s far, far worse than all the naughty words you can list. In our home, this word is forbidden. Really.
What turns you on creatively, spiritually, emotionally?
A wonderful idea. Whether it’s to collaborate on an article, meet for a drink or plot a maniacal scheme to rule the world (then meet for a drink), wonderful ideas come in all sizes and shapes and I adore being part of one. If it’s a silly idea, so much the better…
What turns you off?
Ignorance. It’s caused more hatred and war in this world than anything else imaginable.
What is your favorite curse word?
Fuckshit. (I realize that, for some of you, this is actually two curse words, but I’ve been using this delectable combination as one word for years with a great measure of successful results.) Runner up: crapnuts.
What sound or noise do you love?
Rick’s laugh. It’s bliss. And it always means wonderful things are happening.
What noise or sound do you hate?
Arguing. It eats me up to hear people yelling at each other.
What profession other than your own would you like to attempt?
Crayola Color Namer. I imagine I would excel in this profession.
What profession would you not like to attempt?
Customer Service Representative. At my bank. Last Monday at around 9:45 am. When I called…
If heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive?
“That piece you did last year about the fart – it was hysterical! Really, Saint Pete nearly wee’d himself laughing…”
So – are you up for the challenge?
Go ahead: answer the questions in a comment OR post your responses on your own blog and give me your link in a comment… I’d love to read them! OH – and don’t forget to pass it along!
